Screen shot 2012-10-08 at 2.55.27 PM

Dark Carnival is a celebration of horror, featuring live entertainment, special guests and film screenings. It’s a different show every year, and Dark Carnival events have included outdoor drive-in film screenings, costume contests, dance parties, sideshows, horror hosts, filmmaking seminars, burlesque dancers, live fire shows and more.

Founded more than six years ago, the Dark Carnival International Film Festival has striven to be the premier event for screening the best independent horror, sci-fi, and dark fantasy films. Dark Carnival is based in Bloomington, Indiana (home of Indiana University), and this year’s festival takes place October 19-21, 2012. (Visit www.darkcarnivalfilmfest.com for more info and the festival schedule.)

The festival is divided into multiple screening blocks over Saturday and Sunday at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, in downtown Bloomington, and in this series of podcasts we’ll be taking a look at the amazing films in each block.

Screening Series #1 – Saturday, October 20 beginning at 2PM
