News: “The Taint” Gets a Blu-ray Release

I first saw “The Taint” back in 2010, when it was part of the line-up at the Dark Carnival International Film Festival, and it’s been on my radar ever since. It’s one of those infectious, parasitic kind of indie movies that burrows into your brain and gets all comfy.  You may love it – or not – but you’ll never forget it.

After winning awards all over the festival circuit (including Best SFX at the aforementioned Dark Carnival), I was happy to see The Taint get picked up by Troma in 2012.  Now, after a year-long wait, this awesomely bizarre movie is finally getting the Troma DVD/Blu-ray treatment. Look for discs to drop March 12th.

Here’s the official synopsis, and be sure to check out the NSFW trailer below:

“The water is tainted. The Taint poisons the minds of men. It turns them into raging misogynists: monsters who want nothing more than to crush women’s heads with rocks (or other objects). When society is transformed into a land of sadistic violence and horrible brutality, it is up to Phil O’Ginny and his hot friend, Misandra, to combat the horrible evil that is The Taint. Can they survive in a world brimming with castration and endless head crusing?! “
